The Esterel Mountains, with their distinctive red rocks and green forests, are a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. The Col du Testanier, a popular starting point, provides access to a variety of trails that lead through the unique, wild beauty of the Esterel. From gentle climbs to more challenging routes, there is a trail to suit every level.
A highlight is the hike to the Pic de l’Ours, one of the highest points in the Esterel. This climb rewards hikers with spectacular views of the deep blue Mediterranean and the coastline all the way to the islands off Cannes. For less experienced hikers, there are also shorter but equally impressive routes that lead through fragrant pine forests and along picturesque bays.
The Esterel Mountains are not only scenic, but also a protected nature reserve that is home to rare plant species and a diverse range of wildlife. Visitors can, with a little luck, spot wild animals such as mouflons or birds of prey that are native to this region. The Col du Testanier is easily accessible and ideally located for discovering the Esterel Mountains in all their diversity.
